Glad you found the new settings. I'd forgotten I even wrote the original post and it relates to an older UI design so it's quite old now.I created a room but can't do the settings. I don't have the gear when i check the 3 stripes.
It's not though is it, it's 1 year, and they're quite different timeframes. And like I said this has been requested by many others and it was promised for consideration after the update nearly 3 years back, (which removed it). We've had quite a few updates since and it's not been restored so it would be nice to have it back on the wishlist for next timeWell, VIP Roomowner can Roommute/Roomblock user for up to 1 year. that's kinda "permanent"
And this is what-aboutery. If something is actionable the people who are meant to mod rooms should be able to refer it for action, is the point. Add RAs to my request if they can't either, that is equally absurd, it doesn't make the thing I'm talking about any less absurd. What I'm talking about here is making it easier for the very people who want to make the site a good place, help keep it a good place. It's about recognising the site has assets it doesn't properly utilise. It would help GMs do their job. I don't see what's controversial in this. Also, even Yellowshields in a 321 owned room can "only" Quote, hide and delete.
there's no difference to VIP Rooms.
If its not a super extreme Site Violation, simply delete it. Or if it's very offensive report to a GM, easy to access now after one of the last Updates.
Flags are working and have been for a few months now mate. There is a general, incremental format, drop down menu and utility that has been programmed into the site. It's a rather large source code, that, while could technically be changed, would likely cause more problems for the overall physical function of the site if something goes wrong. And this is what-aboutery. And the big point is, ROOM OWNERS CAN'T REPORT IT TO A GM using the report function, so it is easier/better for everyone if that option is just added, right?
And that WAS the issue I was raising.... All the rest doesn't deal with what I'm saying. If room users can flag a comment, RAs and owners should certainly be able to. I don't see why that is somehow impossible coding.Should RA's be able to use the report feature? That's a valid question.
As a former VIP room owner, I do understand that it's a giant pain in the ass for staff to be unable to flag anything more than a user's profile, which doesn't always show why the person is being reported and therefore can lead to something going unnoticed. If something happens where you room kick when you feel more is required, please contact one of us via PM right away so we can come into the room and deal with it if it's something we can action. Don't delete what happened so we can see it for ourselves, even though I know sometimes it's almost instinctual. Is it annoying as fuck? Yes, and I wish it didn't have to be. But I for one don't know what the technical requirements would be to fix the issue in an update, or if that would cause other site issues to occur like what happens sometimes after the updates go through. I'd rather make sure that issues are dealt with properly with the options we currently have. And that WAS the issue I was raising.... All the rest doesn't deal with what I'm saying. To repeat I am not talking about minor infringements of room/site rules or general rudeness & bad behaviour, experienced room owners are more than capable of dealing with that. I'm talking about what is actionable and deserved to be actioned under site rules. I don't get what is so hard to grasp here.
Currently in short, I deal with assholes in my room by kicking them when they deserve eg site bans. That just shifts problem behaviour somewhere else, when it should be dealt with.
So it's not "whats easiest for me mate" it's what seems logical for everyone who is trying to be responsible room owners do that, and help the site. Perhaps people could read/comprehend the actual comment if they are going to wade in with a reply.....
Except it’s still a function that Room owners and RAs cannot use. That’s the whole point and has been for several years now.Flags are working and have been for a few months now mate. It's a rather large source code, that, while could technically be changed, would likely cause more problems for the overall physical function of the site if something goes wrong.
Easier for you and easier overall, aren't the same things. Most people will blow up their account, create a new one and come back before that year is up anyway. You're trying to plug a hole in a boat with a screen door.
