It is my understanding that hucow gifs, gaping gifs and anime hentai gifs and pics are not allowed in the older for younger room. If I am incorrect, please correct me. If I am correct, I would appreciate that someone talk to the GM who sent me a warning about abusing the flag for flagging these type gifs. Thank you

Hucow and breastfeeding are 2 different subjects first off. Secondly, I did not speak to the room owner about the warning because the room owner at that time was missing for a couple weeks. You want users to report infractions, and yet we get warned when we do. Yes, the OFY room has been out of control awhile, but a few of the current GMs are doing a good job of working to get it back where it once was, and Lydia is a great choice for room owner. She is very level headed with her warnings, unlike a few that just go after certain people. Without clear rules, then everything falls into " at mods discretion" which we know means several different rules for the same things. I just ignore the rule breakers now instead of reporting, that way someone won't decide to kick, ban or give me warnings.

Just to get my word on this also. Firstly Lydia is doing a sterling job in one of the busiest rooms on site. The room has had no clear direction for a long time and to turn that around will be no easy task but it is one she is doing positively and with staff who back her 110%. Most of who have commented here know what it is like to have modded a room this size, no easy task when you’re one GM in a room of 500+ still handling flags and helping chatters in PMs so to gripe when things are getting missed, or staff from other rooms are maybe not as familiar with the rules as the regular staff are is just utter nonsense

As for time limits on the posting of GIFs in OFY this was tried before and failed miserably. Impossible to keep a timer on every single post in the room but ALL the staff work very hard to try and keep flooding under control. Bearing in mind staff give up there time voluntarily to keep this room good for others and as is apparent here get very little thanks for it

So credit where it’s due and thanks to Lydia for taking the room on in the first place and doing her very best to consult with her staff and implement the positive changes we’re all seeing! 👏👏👏👏

I'm glad that my commenting on this post has created so much activity, considering the original question went unanswered for a week.

Shout out to @Nixie , someone not part of the room in question and without access to the information, for trying to answer in the first place. As I've been behind the scenes, shouldn't every GM have seen this thread before a week from the posting? No one wanted to speak up until, and not a single member of Ofy could have clarified until I made an opinion?

It seems everyone echoed what I stated initially, that Ofy has long lost any clear direction with what is and isn't allowed. Not sure how this turned into a need to defend someone we all know isn't at fault for it getting to that point. I recognize that Lydia is working to change things, but that doesn't negate the fact there is work to be done.

It's clear from AJs initial response that the GMs aren't generally sure what their [ofy] exact rules are at the moment. How can users report room issues if all GMs who work the reports don't know the rules for each site room or have immediate access to finding the rules i.e. the topic?

Thanks for the constructive conversations 👍

@AZ_ ~ I was referring to the new owner. You're right, they have been doing a great job & love seeing that kinda support! I have hopped into the room a few times to help in ofy & that room moves hella fast. I can't imagine doing that on the regular. Respect. It's not always easy NOT to take something personally, especially when your intentions were to help out. The point I was trying to make was that it was addressed, though it wasn't what you wanted to hear. I understand your frustration and trying to make your point. It does fall to the mod reviewing the report from whichever room they are currently in, perhaps not having some context or know all the understood rules in the room . But you are also familiar with the rules mods must follow, and yet still wanting some sort of confirmation that you were wrongly warned. It really wasn't done maliciously and wasn't personal. & reporting on issues that break site/room rules are always appreciated, especially since so many assume someone else is handling it. It will help things along once the rules are fine tuned, most definitely.

@Buck Eejit ~ YESSS to all of the above! That's what's up! Loving the positive response, lifting up others, working as a team. Re: the time limit, it is tough trying to ensure there is enough space where people can have an actual conversation amongst the gifs & pics. It would help if those complaining about it being just like the Porn room would lead by example, rather than posting the next gif exactly three minutes later. Seems counterproductive 🤷‍♀️

i think we should all take this opportunity to thank all the current GMs and the ppl who are in line to take on that task.

probably the best group of GMs we’ve had for a bit, perhaps it’s best to just let them do their job since they’re the ones the site chose to make sure things are running smoothly and fairly.

cheers.

Cruella...why don't you simply enjoy the room? You can not correct past administrative activities of a room so bringing it up constantly is not helpful.

Ofy is a big ship to command. From my observation the current team seems to be working TOGETHER to ensure a reasonably safe 321 experience for all the 500 plus users.

Let the team work on what needs to be done.

Eons ago I was admin in gay room, it wasn't my thing I learned in a couple of weeks but I'm happy to notice that some of the the rules i wanted back then are still in use. To all the mods and admin on site, I salute you for your job.. I know it takes time and much effort from you

That's not at all what I said. My words were not stating we don't know the rules of O4Y. My statement was that some topics are interpreted differently as to what falls into each category.

When rules are in question, the easiest thing is to PM the room owner to clarify. This topic has turned into 29 posts over a warning. I'm sure Lydia would be happy to clarify any rules questions for O4Y as would I about the RP room.

The veiled arrogance and condescending tone of this post is appalling, as is your pretence of engaging in constructive conversation when most of us know the real reason for your posts.

I suggest this thread is locked.

A warning given because the rules for Ofy were unclear. Hence my point. No one has rebuted that fact, but instead this has turned into an echo chamber of defending something unnecessarily. Not one person here has said "Ofy doesn't need to make any changes and is perfect the way it is".

Multiple people in this thread have made the exact comments to me about the room, but now that the person with the opinion is someone they dislike, it's turned into this.

As I said, I'm glad my adding an opinion got some staff using the forums regularly the last couple of days. Hope to see that same energy in other spaces here. Reply or don't, I won't be following this thread further. Everyone has already driven my point home.

Cheers x

community note:

a quick scroll back will show multiple ppl acknowledging changes being made and the proper method of getting clarification (contacting current GMs) on rules.

i think we can drop the false narrative that a couple are trying to spread and get back to facts instead.

thanks again to the GMs who volunteer their time and are always available when said clarification is needed

toodles.

The point is this:

Getting blocked from a particular group requires one to ask the Staff of that group since they would be the ones who are best positioned to handle the issues related to that group. If there is an issue with how the group is run or how staff are handling themselves, speak to the room owner. It isn’t that other staff aren’t aware of the rules of other groups (since an RA for Role Play was able to post screenshots of the rules of another group), it’s that it isn’t our place to dictate how another group operates nor handle any inquiries regarding it.

Chain of command folks.

Lydia and her staff are doing an excellent job of reeling in the room back to its theme and intent. I'm sure in time, it will regain it's direction at her leadership.
Thanks , Az people don't like change but for good of room we will change it around get it back on its original Theme * Older For Younger * I've a good team on hand to help x
